Dear DeFiChain lovers, today we start a series aiming to explain about components of Web3 Domains. Enjoy the registry and stay tuned for more to come!

A registry is a smart contract on the blockchain that manages the mapping of domain names to their corresponding addresses (e.g. IP addresses or cryptocurrency addresses). This allows users to interact with decentralized applications and services using human-readable domain names instead of complex hexadecimal addresses. Registries typically have a process for registering and managing domain names, which may include paying a fee, winning an auction, or meeting certain criteria.

Long story short: the registry is the top-level contract of DefiChain Domains responsible for storing all the domain names and their corresponding resolver smart contracts.
